Respectful Relationships In the Workplace
Large Government organisation
Due to increased tension in the workplace, we were asked to work with volunteer and career staff to improve interpersonal relationships embedded in respect, collaboration and positive communication.
We have designed a unique program that not only blends theory, practice and legislation together but allows participants to tap into their value base. Edward DeBono states “There is not a decision we make or an action we take, that is not linked to our values”. Most people understand what is expected of them within the workplace. They understand the concepts of discrimination, harassment and bullying. However, when one fees undervalued or that someone is disrespecting them, the impact on the individual, team and organisation can be emotionally and financially significant for all parties.
Our Respectful Relationships in the Workplace Program allows individuals to understand the way in which our values drive our decision making and subsequent behaviours. Parties can disagree and have very different perceptions but the ability to work through differences is a key to shifting and sustaining a healthy culture.
We successfully rolled out a one day program that provided all staff with the skills and knowledge to understand what is meant by respectful relationships in the workplace. We then worked closely with the leadership team on a range of strategies designed to shift and sustain and healthy workplace culture.
